And likewise, to many of the polytheists their partners have made [to seem] pleasing the killing of their children in order to bring about their destruction and to cover them with confusion in their religion. And if Allah had willed, they would not have done so. So leave them and that which they invent.
اور اسی طرح بہت سے مشرکین کے خیال میں ان کے معبودوں نے ان کی اولاد کے قتل کرنے کو مستحسن بنا رکھا ہے تاکہ وہ ان کو برباد کریں اور تاکہ ان کے دین کو ان پر مشتبہ کردیں اور اگر اللہ کو منظور ہوتا تو یہ ایسا کام نہ کرتے تو آپ ان کو اور جو کچھ غلط باتیں بنا رہے ہیں یونہی رہنے دیجئے ۔
Those will have lost who killed their children in foolishness without knowledge and prohibited what Allah had provided for them, inventing untruth about Allah . They have gone astray and were not [rightly] guided.
واقعی خرابی میں پڑ گئے وہ لوگ جنہوں نے اپنی اولاد کو محض براہ حماقت بلا کسی سند کے قتل کر ڈالا اور جو چیزیں ان کو اللہ نے ان کو کھانے پینے کو دی تھیں ان کو حرام کر لیا جو محض اللہ پر افترا باندھنے کے طور پر ۔ بیشک یہ لوگ گمراہی میں پڑ گئے اور کبھی راہ راست پر چلنے والے نہیں ہوئے ۔
Say, "Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you. [He commands] that you not associate anything with Him, and to parents, good treatment, and do not kill your children out of poverty; We will provide for you and them. And do not approach immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed. And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed] except by [legal] right. This has He instructed you that you may use reason."
آپ کہیے کہ آؤ میں تم کو وہ چیزیں پڑھ کر سناؤں جن ( یعنی جن کی مخالفت ) کو تمہارے رب نے تم پر حرام فرما دیا ہے وہ یہ کہ اللہ کے ساتھ کسی چیز کو شریک مت ٹھہراؤ اور ماں باپ کے ساتھ احسان کرو اور اپنی اولاد کو افلاس کے سبب قتل مت کرو ۔ ہم تم کو اور ان کو رزق دیتے ہیں اور بے حیائی کے جتنے طریقے ہیں ان کے پاس بھی مت جاؤ خواہ وہ اعلانیہ ہوں خواہ پوشیدہ اور جس کا خون کرنا اللہ تعالٰی نے حرام کر دیا ہے اس کو قتل مت کرو ہاں مگر حق کے ساتھ ان کا تم کو تاکیدی حکم دیا ہے تاکہ تم سمجھو ۔
