Chapter 68 of Establishing the prayer and the sunnah regarding them in Sunnan Ibn e Maja. Each Hadith below carries its Arabic text, its Urdu and English translation, its number and its grading.
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said:
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Do not lift your gaze to the heavens lest your sight be snatched away,” meaning during prayer.
عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ( نماز کی حالت میں ) اپنی نگاہیں آسمان کی طرف نہ اٹھاؤ، کہیں ایسا نہ ہو کہ تمہاری بینائی چھین لی جائے ۔

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led his Companions in prayer one day. When he had finished prayer he turned to face the people and said: ‘What is wrong with some people that they lift their gaze to the heavens?’ He spoke severely concerning that: ‘They should certainly abstain from that or Allah will snatch away their sight.’”
عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک روز اپنے صحابہ کو نماز پڑھائی، جب آپ نماز سے فارغ ہوئے تو لوگوں کی جانب رخ کر کے فرمایا: لوگوں کو کیا ہو گیا ہے کہ اپنی نگاہیں ( بحالت نماز ) آسمان کی جانب اٹھاتے رہتے ہیں؟ ، یہاں تک کہ بڑی سختی کے ساتھ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ تک فرما دیا: لوگ اس سے ضرور باز آ جائیں ورنہ اللہ تعالیٰ ان کی نگاہیں اچک لے گا ۔

It was narrated from Jabir bin Samurah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Let those who lift their gaze to the heavens desist, or their sight will not come back.”
جابر بن سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: لوگوں کو ( نماز کی حالت میں ) آسمان کی طرف اپنی نگاہیں اٹھانے سے باز آ جانا چاہیئے، کہیں ایسا نہ ہو کہ ان کی نگاہیں ( صحیح سالم ) نہ لوٹیں ۱؎۔
یعنی نماز کے اندر اس کام سے باز آ جائیں، اور بعضوں نے کہا کہ جب دعا کرتا ہو تو نماز سے باہر بھی نگاہ اٹھانی مکروہ ہے، اور اکثر لوگوں نے نماز سے باہر نگاہ اٹھانے کو جائز کہا ہے، اس بناء پر کہ دعا کا قبلہ آسمان ہے جیسے نماز کا قبلہ کعبہ ہے۔
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:
“A woman used to perform prayer behind the Prophet (ﷺ), and she was one of the most beautiful of people. Some of the people used to go into the first row so that they would not see her, and some of them used to lag behind so that they would be in the last row, and when they bowed, they would do like this so that they could see her from beneath their armpits. Then Allah revealed: “And indeed, We know the first generations of you who had passed away, and indeed, We know the present generations of you (mankind), and also those who will some afterwards.” [15:24] concerning her matter.
عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ ایک عورت نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پیچھے نماز پڑھا کرتی تھی، جو بہت زیادہ خوبصورت تھی، کچھ لوگ پہلی صف میں کھڑے ہوتے تاکہ اسے نہ دیکھ سکیں، اور کچھ لوگ پیچھے رہتے یہاں تک کہ بالکل آخری صف میں کھڑے ہوتے اور جب رکوع میں جاتے تو اس طرح بغل کے نیچے سے اس عورت کو دیکھتے، تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس کے سلسلے میں آیت کریمہ: «ولقد علمنا المستقدمين منكم ولقد علمنا المستأخرين» ہم نے جان لیا آگے بڑھنے والوں کو، اور پیچھے رہنے والوں کو ( سورۃ الحجر: ۲۴ ) نازل فرمائی۔
