سَاَلَ سَآئِلٌۢ بِعَذَابٍ وَّاقِعٍ ۙ﴿۱﴾

A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen

ایک سوال کرنے والے نے اس عذاب کا سوال کیا جو واضح ہونے والا ہے ۔

لِّلۡکٰفِرِیۡنَ لَیۡسَ لَہٗ دَافِعٌ ۙ﴿۲﴾

To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer.

کافروں پر ، جسے کوئی ہٹانے والا نہیں ۔

مِّنَ اللّٰہِ ذِی الۡمَعَارِجِ ؕ﴿۳﴾

[It is] from Allah , owner of the ways of ascent.

اس اللہ کی طرف سے جو سیڑھیوں والا ہے ۔

تَعۡرُجُ الۡمَلٰٓئِکَۃُ وَ الرُّوۡحُ اِلَیۡہِ فِیۡ یَوۡمٍ کَانَ مِقۡدَارُہٗ خَمۡسِیۡنَ اَلۡفَ سَنَۃٍ ۚ﴿۴﴾

The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years.

جس کی طرف فرشتے اور روح چڑھتے ہیں ایک دن میں جس کی مقدار پچاس ہزار سال کی ہے ۔

فَاصۡبِرۡ صَبۡرًا جَمِیۡلًا ﴿۵﴾

So be patient with gracious patience.

پس تو اچھی طرح صبر کر ۔

اِنَّہُمۡ یَرَوۡنَہٗ بَعِیۡدًا ۙ﴿۶﴾

Indeed, they see it [as] distant,

بیشک یہ اس ( عذاب ) کو دور سمجھ رہے ہیں ۔

وَّ نَرٰىہُ قَرِیۡبًا ؕ﴿۷﴾

But We see it [as] near.

اور ہم اسے قریب ہی دیکھتے ہیں ۔

یَوۡمَ تَکُوۡنُ السَّمَآءُ کَالۡمُہۡلِ ۙ﴿۸﴾

On the Day the sky will be like murky oil,

جس دن آسمان مثل تیل کی تلچھٹ کے ہو جائے گا ۔

وَ تَکُوۡنُ الۡجِبَالُ کَالۡعِہۡنِ ۙ﴿۹﴾

And the mountains will be like wool,

اور پہاڑ مثل رنگین اون کے ہوجائیں گے ۔

وَ لَا یَسۡئَلُ حَمِیۡمٌ حَمِیۡمًا ﴿۱۰﴾ۚ ۖ

And no friend will ask [anything of] a friend,

اور کوئی دوست کسی دوست کو نہ پوچھے گا ۔
